Using PDP to Measure the Behavioral Traits, Decision-Making Styles and Energy of Your People

USING PDP TO MEASURE THE BEHAVIORAL TRAITS, DECISION-MAKING STYLES AND ENERGY OF YOUR PEOPLE.jpg

As a CEO, I used the PDP (Professional DynaMetric Programs) tool continually at SRBL Architects for approximately seven years for talent selection and leadership development.  I found dramatically improved results for hiring, creating balanced work teams, promotions and leadership training.  I thought so highly of this tool that I ultimately earned a designation as a Certified PDP Administrator so I can provide this tool to my clients’ benefit.

Admittedly, I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to taking these types of behavioral profile surveys and have taken most of them.  You name a profile, and I can tell you what my results look like. And while many of the profile systems available to organizations today have value, I found the PDP ProScan, JobScan, and TeamScan surveys to be superior to anything else.  As such, I highly recommend you incorporate this tool in your organization, regardless of your organization’s size or industry.

PDP (Professional DynaMetric Programs) is a system that measures the behavioral traits, decision-making style and energy measures of an individual.  Dr. Samuel Houston developed the PDP tool in 1977; it has decades of research behind it with Coefficients of Reliability above .94 for all factors.

A PDP ProScan Survey can provide managers with an immense amount of valuable information about a job candidate or current employee including their four cornerstone traits:

  • Level of Dominance

  • Level of Extroversion

  • Level of Patience

  • Level of Conformity

Their decision making style:

  • Fact

  • Feeling

  • Combination

Their Energy Style and Kinetic Energy Level to handle specific tasks:

  • Thrust

  • Allegiance

  • Ste-nacity

And:

  • How easily he/she can adapt his/her natural self based on responsibility or situation

  • Current degree of satisfaction

  • Communication, Leadership and Back-Up Style

If you’d like to learn more about PDP for your organization, please give me a call. I’d love to tell you more.
