Emerging Leaders Program
Building a Great Organization Always Starts with Building a Great Team.
I talk with leaders who wonder how much time and energy they should personally spend investing in their team members’ development. The answer is – you should set an annual budget for group and individual training that corresponds with the current and future responsibilities of each team member. Organizations that last multiple generations and through economic highs and lows are the ones that invest time and money in building a strong team and helping them continually grow to handle new challenges.
Ask Yourself:
Do you have a few individuals who work at your park agency who you recognize their potential and desire to take on more responsibility?
Do you want to maximize their strengths, but have hesitations or lack the time to take on the primary leadership development role?
Do you want to regularly strengthening the abilities of your entire team via group training, but need a trainer who get’s your organization?
“Soft skills are the difference between A-players and everyone else.”
While your team members are likely competent in their area of specialty, the special sauce that makes them exceptional is having a solid grasp on soft skills (training topics listed below). These skills were likely not taught as part of their university training, but are equally, if not more valuable, in helping an emerging leader succeed.
Can you imagine investing in one, two or several individuals who could help manage and lead your agency? How about a day when one of them comes to you and asks to be groomed as the next Executive Director or take on significant new responsibilities?
Let me help you build a strong team, helping them continually grow to handle new challenges effectively.

Emerging Leaders Program & Training Options
The Emerging Leaders Program includes:
Evaluating the strengths of the participant(s) via PDPGlobal ProScan behavioral assessment (only included in one-on-one mentoring and small group training program)
Identifying Key Performance Indicators that connect to your personal and organizational goals.
Learning through reading Carol’s white papers and relevant books, homework assignments, and coaching with Carol as how they can improve within the specific training topics.
Entering into a 3-way commitment between the emerging leader, sponsoring supervisor and Carol—Your involvement as the Executive Director or supervisor is critical to the effectiveness of this program.
Depending on the number of candidates you have, here are three ways we can structure the program for you to meet your desired learning objectives and business goals.
One-on-One Leadership Mentoring is an intensive program focused on your selected candidate. We will move them through some or all of the training topics to prepare them for continued advancement. Our meetings will take place monthly, and if all 12 topics are included, this is typically a two-year program.
The Small Group Training Program is an intensive program for a small, like-minded group that takes place monthly over a 6-12 month period of time covering one or more training topics. All members in the group will have reading assignments and homework in between meetings.
Large Group Trainings are ideal if you have a specific soft skill that you would like to schedule for group training, we can identify your specific learning objectives, set time frame, and organize a ½ day training program.
The highest regard for Carol personally and professionally.
“It was a pleasure to work with Carol on our Strategic Plan. We had several team meetings prior to the pandemic to get the process started. Carol and I decided to break some new ground and finish our plan with a set of Zoom calls during the pandemic shut down. This was challenging but rewarding in that we did not lose momentum to get the plan completed. Carol is open to reframing and allows for flexibility to work through challenges with a positive outlook at all times. Her enthusiasm in working with everyone on our team inclusively was so valuable. I have the highest regard for Carol personally and professionally, I highly recommend her to assist you with all of her services.”
